This evaluation board for the FDA903D 1 x 45 W class D digital input automotive power amplifier, with load current monitoring and wide voltage operation range, is highly suitable for typical automotive audio, infotainment and telematic applications in conjunction with suitable automotive microcontrollers.

 

The amplifier can also be interfaced with the SPC582B Chorus automotive microcontroller and can also provide Electric Vehicle Warning Sounds (or Acoustic Vehicle Alerting Systems, AVAS) solutions.

The STEVAL-BFA001V2B is an industrial reference design kit for condition monitoring (CM) and predictive maintenance (PdM), in a layout that is designed to meet IEC61000-4-2/4 and EN60947 requirements for industrial applications.

 

The hardware consists of a highly compact (50 x 9 x 9 mm) industrial sensor board specifically designed for real industrial applications, and the necessary debugging tools, cables, plugs and adapters for an industrial communications scenario. The connection is managed using a standard multipolar cable with one wire used for IO-Link data.
The STSW-BFA001V2 firmware package (freely available on www.st.com) includes dedicated algorithms for advanced time and frequency domain signal processing and analysis of the high bandwidth 3D digital accelerometer for vibration monitoring. The package includes pressure, relative humidity and temperature sensor monitoring samples as well as audio algorithms for acoustic emission (AE).

The STEVAL-DPSTPFC1 reference design is a full digitally controlled Bridgeless Totem Pole PFC with smart and reliable control of the inrush current.

The power board features second generation 650V SiC Power MOSFETs driven by galvanically isolated STGAP gate drivers. The SiC Power MOSFET significantly reduces switching losses with minimal variation versus temperature and ensures low ripple current CCM operation thanks to extremely low reverse recovery losses.

The thyristor SCR provide AC line polarity switching with active current limitation on power up or line drop recovery ensuring smooth but fast power up, robustness to surge and immunity to electrical transients, without contact bouncing or EMI issues.
